We’d love to have you apply, even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with engineers to develop ad delivery pipelines and systems across multiple ad inventory sources
  • Leverage data and analytical insights to deeply understand what is happening in our ads marketplace, make complex tradeoffs and identify new areas of growth. Be comfortable with various analytical tools such as Jupyter/iPython and SQL
  • Leverage industry wide best practices, deep understanding of users and advertisers to build delightful ads experiences across retrieval, matching, ads formats and placements.
  • Optimize components of the backend platform to drive more value to advertisers and grow long-term revenue
  • Work cross-functionally to guide products and break down complex problems by connecting the technical and business worlds
  • Foster and build a fun, diverse, and inclusive culture that reflects Yelp’s values.

What it takes to succeed:

  • Experience as a Product Manager in an applicable industry with a background in math, economics, or any other technical field that allows you to be fluent in developing ads features
  • Customer driven: energized by driving revenue and user growth and translating both consumers’ and businesses’ wants and needs into concrete features
  • Problem solver: loves to break down complex, unstructured problems into digestible components from conception to launch
  • Effective communicator: able to synthesize and translate between technical and non-technical audiences; effectively communicates topics involving complex trade offs to stakeholders across the organization and to external partners
  • Tech savvy: has experience solving difficult, company-critical technical problems
  • Operational know-how: diligent on improving processes around ads system reliability and metrics monitoring, constantly thinks about how to make processes more efficient
  • Strong collaborator: enjoys working across different teams, functions, and timezones
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent work experience is required.

What you'll get:

  • Compensation range is $100,000-260,000 annually. You may also be offered restricted stock units and benefits.
  • This opportunity has the option to be fully remote in all locations across the US.
