The Vision 

PLS envisions becoming the life sciences investment industry's best tech and AI-enabled investment platform. The AI team aims to provide best-in-class intelligence support across all steps of the investment process, from deal sourcing to exit. The system will function as an additional team member and help augment the investment team to make better investments and build better companies for unmet therapeutic needs. The Role 

We are seeking an innovative Senior Product Manager to lead the development of a cutting-edge AI platform, integrating a suite of component products that leverage biological, clinical, financial, people, and company data. The platform is designed to deliver actionable insights and predictive analytics that empower investors to make data-driven decisions. 

Key responsibilities: 

Product Vision and Strategy: 

  • Define and manage a strategic product vision for an AI platform that advances the investment process, comprising modules that use biological, clinical, financial, people, and company data for enhancing decision-making through data insights and predictions. 
  • Collaborate closely with Data Science and Investment teams to identify and prioritize key metrics and model requirements that align with and accelerate investment objectives. 

 

Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Partner with Data Science and Investment stakeholders to design and develop AI-driven tools that reveal insights and support the achievement of investment goals. 
  • Serve as a bridge between teams, ensuring alignment around the product vision and advocating for user needs. 
  • Manage a small team composed of another product manager and a UX/UI designer  

User-Centric Product Development: 

  • Execute core product management principles, including: 
  • Understanding and representing user needs and expectations. 
  • Conducting competitive analysis and staying informed of market trends. 
  • Prioritizing features and functionalities that maximize value and ease of use. 
  • Apply world-class product management skills to enhance usability and drive platform adoption across teams. 

Stakeholder Management: 

  • Exhibit strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills to balance multiple, often competing priorities, ensuring the delivery of maximum product value. 
  • Utilize storytelling and data visualization techniques to enhance data interpretation, enabling investment teams to interact meaningfully with data and foster a cultural shift towards AI-driven solutions. 

Innovation and Continuous Improvement: 

  • Stay at the forefront of emerging AI, business intelligence trends, and tools, continuously evolving the platform to maintain relevance and sophistication. 
  • Plan and manage product evolution to address new business questions and opportunities while maintaining a focus on simplicity and usability. 

 

Competencies 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Product Management - working within AI, analytics, life sciences, data, high tech, investment 
  • Experience working within an Agile product management environment.  Including experience with product management tools such as Atlassian’s suite of products – Confluence, Jira, etc.. 
  • Familiarity with data engineering pipeline / ETL processes 
  • Experience with Machine Learning and/or AI is a considerable plus 
  • Comfortable assessing financial impact and writing recommendations + delivering presentations for large audiences 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a quantitative field of study (e.g., Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Economics)  
  • Does not require employer immigration sponsorship now or in the future

 

Additional Information 

Salary range: $259,000-$330,000 Total Compensation Package (Includes base salary + up to 20% annual performance bonus) 

Hybrid work schedule: In person 3 days/week (M/W/Th), San Francisco Headquarters
