Overview

Working at Atlassian

Atlassians can choose where they work – whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Work Management is one of Atlassian’s three strategic areas of focus, alongside Agile DevOps and IT Service Management. Confluence is Atlassian's second-largest product after Jira, and a behemoth in the work management market. We help Fortune 500 companies collaborate, capture, and share the knowledge that makes their teams more effective and their organizations more aligned. As a cornerstone of Atlassian’s new System of Work, Confluence is a trusted legacy product that’s now primed for even bigger growth in the enterprise!

The Opportunity

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager focused on Confluence’s expansion into new enterprise audiences, you will identify the ideal buyer/influencer/champion personas and their core jobs to be done, as well as the market and trends that they care about. You will partner with our sales, field marketing, and customer lifecycle teams to optimize the funnel to attract executive-level decision-makers. You will create the strategy, messaging, and content needed to sell the value of Confluence to our target personas, while working with the rest of our expansion team to bring Confluence’s unique value propositions to market.

In short, you will help Atlassian expand beyond our stronghold in technical teams (devs, IT, etc.) to reach their non-technical counterparts (marketing, HR, ops, finance, etc.) as we become the system of work for ALL teams across the enterprise!

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Help shape Confluence’s strategy for reaching new audiences in an emerging market, identifying our strengths, and leading the effort to close gaps

  • Drive the research and understanding of exec-level buying decisions and personas, and build a corresponding strategy to reach them at each stage of consideration

  • Partner with our customer lifecycle marketing team in evaluations of funnel health to propose and test improvements to existing marketing messages in a multi-channel strategy that includes email, events, and digital ads

  • Be the owner of our enterprise buyer’s journey and lead cross-functional efforts to optimize it end-to-end from web entrance to deal close

  • Build and enable sales and channel partners on the assets and talk tracks needed to appeal to non-technical department heads

  • Contribute to the development of messaging and positioning of Confluence against competitors in the enterprise and within the Atlassian work management solution

Qualifications

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in enterprise or solutions product marketing

  • Experience in building for emerging categories and/or new audiences

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in presenting and story-telling, ability to influence

  • Bachelors Degree

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $150,700 - $200,900

Zone B: $135,600 - $180,800

Zone C: $125,100 - $166,700

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Please visit go.atlassian.com/payzones for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones. However, please confirm the zone for your specific location with your recruiter.
