THE TEAM & THE JOB

The Senior Technical Product Manager will be working with the YouGov Behavioral, which processes and analyses terabytes of data daily to help us on our journey to connect data and understand what the world thinks. The team works with some very interesting data. This role focuses on utilizing behavioral data to inform product strategy and development at YouGov. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of YouGov's customer base and their data needs and will be able to translate those needs into clear product requirements for the engineering team. They will work closely with data scientists and engineers to design and implement data solutions, integrating behavioral data into existing and new YouGov products. This person will also be responsible for driving adoption of these data products through documentation, training, and advocacy, while using product analytics to measure their impact and iterate effectively.


The key sources this role will be working directly with are as follows:

  • SVOD (e.g. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+) watching history
  • Gaming (e.g. Steam)
  • Banking transactions
  • Browsing History
  • YouTube History

 

Based on which source, we build various products and projects for our clients. Our team is based all over the world. This is a full time, 100% remote role.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Develop a deep understanding of the YouGov’s customer base and how they utilize behavioral data to inform their business decisions

Work with data scientists and engineers to design and implement high performing and accurate data solutions that bring together data from across a wide variety of sources into a unified view

Translate stakeholder needs into clear product requirements documents, epics, user stories, and research spikes and maintain a prioritized backlog of work for the engineering team

Lead the effort to integrate behavioral data into other YouGov products

Drive adoption of data products by both internal and external customers through documentation, training, and other means of advocacy

Balance strategic vision leadership with tactical execution by being able to seamlessly zoom in and out as required

Provide expertise on product analytics to measure the impact of new features and products allowing the team to experiment and fail fast

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (TECHNICAL & BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES)

Technical Product Management experience, preferably as a Data Product Manager

Ability to act as a translator between technical and business users to ensure that all stakeholders remain on the same page

High level understanding of data architecture and management best practices

Understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of Agile practices and frameworks

Familiarity with statistics, statistical modelling techniques and data analysis methods

Hands on experience with data engineering tasks including data cleansing and movement

Ask relevant questions and offer thoughtful opinions

Worked for at least a year remotely in a global environment

Communicate fluently in English

It would be a plus if you:

Have experience with YouGov or any other market research data provider

Have experience in the market research or digital media advertising space

Have experience with AWS services

Have experience with NLP processing including Gen AI tools

Like entertainment industry, have basic understanding about TV-Shows, Movies, Games, and social media
