About the job

The Solutions Product Strategy team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to responsible for driving SAS’ Applied AI and Modeling software portfolio and product strategy.  In this high-profile role, you will be responsible for setting product direction and creating a roadmap in alignment with the portfolio vision.

 

With your knowledge of public and private cloud computing, you will help grow our “Model-as-a-Product” businesses more quickly. You will be shaping the future of how SAS models as products strategies align with the transformative journey that customers have embarked on to incorporate analytics into their business processes. You will craft new product features that allow customers to easily leverage AI and Modeling capabilities. In addition, you will support SAS solution portfolios deploy these capabilities into industry and horizontal business process products. As the product face of the “Models-as-a-Product” portfolio, you will play a strategic role in sales, marketing, customer support and enablement. You will communicate product content and knowledge to internal constituents and support the external presence of SAS and our offerings

 

You will

  • Define and prioritize product requirements based on business drivers, customer inputs, market direction, and field contribution.
  • Help develop cross-cutting portfolio strategy by coordinating with product managers from different product portfolios and lines of business.
  • Translate business requirements into technical, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Define user personas and write use cases.
  • Drive product development and collaborate with software development teams based on requirements management, risk management, risk mitigation, and product lifecycles.
  • Support product launches as primary content provider to facilitate knowledge transfer of product functionality to marketing and sales.
  • Present product vision, roadmap, and software demonstrations to internal constituents, senior management stakeholders, customers, press, analysts, influencers, and others.
  • Identify new market opportunities and evaluate emerging technology and business issues that may present opportunities or threats to the company.
  • Serve as a product champion by analyzing external market trends, competition, opportunities that impact the user, and capabilities of the platform.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

  • 8+ years of experience preferably in Product Management or alternatively in Software Design or Advanced Analytics  in a commercial context.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in a Product or Computer Science related field with a deep technical background. 
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Deep understanding of Applied AI and Modeling principals and capabilities.
  • Deep understanding concepts of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business models.
