The Ads Quality team helps Pinners move from inspiration to action by showing the right ad at the right time. We are at the core of the entire ads system optimizing for Pinner, Advertiser, and Pinterest value. Third party demand represents our fastest growing source of revenue and has high organizational visibility as one of the most important strategic initiatives at the company. The work to integrate new demand sources is also green field, requiring creativity and insights in re-evaluating the approach to every major step to the ads delivery process and presents the opportunity to build from scratch in otherwise much more mature areas.
The ideal candidate has a passion for driving business impact, possesses a holistic view of the ads serving platform, and is able to clearly reason through the mechanics of the ads delivery funnel to understand the equilibrium impact and tradeoffs of interventions. They are comfortable with ambiguity and demonstrate high judgment in both interpreting metrics and driving custom analyses.
What you’ll do:
- Own the strategy and implementation for integrating advertising demand from third parties onto the Pinterest platform. This includes developing the roadmap for ML and infrastructure investments to grow the scale and performance of third party demand, determining the principles by which first and third party demand are integrated in the marketplace, and owning the execution and success evaluation framework for the integration.
- Partner closely with the business development to unlock new streams of demand as well as with teams of engineers, machine learning experts, data science, design, and more to deliver a seamless end-to-end integration of new demand sources.
- Build system solutions to drive scale and performance from third party demand sources while maximizing the contribution of this additional inventory to the overall value that the platform drives for Pinners and Advertisers.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of experience working in digital advertising as a Product Manager, Engineering Manager, Data Scientist, or related role.
- Strong evidence of the ability to define new products and strategies in an ambiguous space and to execute from ideation to go-to-market.
- Strong ability to empathize with, anticipate the needs of, and effectively collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of business metrics and tradeoffs in the contexts of online marketplaces.
- Demonstrated success exercising business judgment in ambiguous spaces.
- Direct experience with and fundamental understanding of ads delivery systems and/or online marketplaces.
- Experience with Ads Marketplace and/or Modeling and/or Retrieval
- Technical degree in CS/Statistics/Math/Engineering will be preferred but not required.
- Design, run, or analyze marketplace experiments.
