Position Summary: A hands-on leadership role for the IT Department focused on driving the rapid development of valuable new products and enhancements to existing products. The Product Manager collaborates with the business, operations, customers, industry experts, and cross-functional teams to define, justify, design, and deliver solutions that drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively explain complex business processes to a variety of audiences
- Act as the “true north for customer value” within a high-velocity agile product development team
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to elicit product requirements and understand priorities
- Develop business cases for new products and significant product enhancements, including identification of problems, proposed solutions, market sizing, sales projection, costs, execution planning/management, etc.
- Develop and maintain the product roadmap and backlog by identifying and prioritizing necessary features
- Decompose product roadmap features into documented user stories (requirements)
- Provide support and clarify needs for the development teams to contribute to the development, implementation, and performance of the new solution
- Review and accept user stories, participate in user acceptance testing and continuously orchestrate functional acceptance of valuable working software.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to develop test scripts, test plan, and support and coordinate user acceptance testing
- Determine product success by measuring actual results of the release/product against the business case expectations
- Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
- Maintain acute awareness of competitors’ product offerings and recommend product enhancements to keep DISA ahead of the market
- Develop and maintain product documentation, product instructions and user guides, product metrics, sales and marketing content strategy
- Coordinate with designers, developers, and testers to create functional specifications
- Ensure that the Scrum team verifies against the Done Definition, ensure the Done Definition adheres to quality standards
- Assist business teams with understanding the existing system capabilities, and features being delivered in a project as and when possible
Qualifications required:
- Demonstrated ability to exert influence and deliver on capabilities without having direct control over all participating resources.
- Experience with agile project management tools such as JIRA, TFS, Confluence, Rally, or equivalent.
- Experience with whiteboarding tools such as MIRO, Lucid, Mural, or equivalent.
- Experience with wireframing tools such as Figma, Balsamiq, MockFlow, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to lead a team using new technology and positive leadership skills.
- Ability to interact with both business/operations and IT teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
