We are looking for an Orchestral Strings Product Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the product portfolio within the Orchestral Business Unit (BU), including global business development, product development, product life-cycle management, pricing, marketing, outreach, and artist relations. This individual will report directly to the Vice President, Band & Orchestral Business Units and is part of the product management team.  They will regularly interact with members of shared resources such as D’Addario global regions with emphasis on Europe and Asia, sales, marketing, finance, legal, artist relations, HR, IT, engineering, and operations - driving profitable growth global market share, and operational excellence.  Qualified candidate must be an experienced orchestral stringed instrument player.

This is a hybrid role. You'll be required to work on-site in the Farmingdale office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, or more frequently if needed. Please note that while the primary office is in Farmingdale, you may occasionally be asked to work in the Brooklyn office.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving orchestral business development globally with emphasis in critical Europe and Asia regions representing the greatest opportunity for significant sustained sales growth.
  • Collaborates in the creation and execution of the regions, sales, marketing, and product development strategies for each brand and/or sub-brands, translating the strategies into market share gains and profitable revenue growth.
  • Assists with the creation of an effective global marketing plan for the brand, incorporating the sales and marketing activities relevant to today’s marketplace aligned with approved business plans and budgets.
  • Partners with Sales Management and Regional Leaders to develop relevant, timely and successful sales plans, campaigns, programs, and promotions.
  • Product development and marketing – helps to identify market trends and opportunities in each key region, and tailors product development and product enhancement activities to satisfy the market and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Drives high level marketing initiatives and product launches with concise creative briefs and budget that can be effectively executed by the marketing team.
  • Responsible for managing the product portfolio, life-cycle management and seamless product launches contributing to the overall profitability of the entire business unit.
  • Contributes to driving operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.
  • Executes thorough yearly performance reviews for all direct reports as per company protocol, thus ensuring alignment and personnel development with her team.
  • Interacts with key accounts and industry influencers as needed.
  • Helps to coordinate Artist Relations activities to be relevant will all related marketing plans.
  • Up to 30% travel including international travel.

Qualifications

  • Experienced violin, viola, cello and/or orchestral bass player or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Music Business or a related field preferred
  • Relevant product management experience, preferably in the music instrument industry
  • Substantial experience and deep understanding of the orchestral instrument, string and accessories products, global market, and competitors
  • Strong analytic and risk/opportunity assessment ability
  • Continuous improvement mentality
  • Excellent organizational skills

     

     

    The base salary range for this role would be commensurate with experience: $90k-$110k per year
