As a Product Manager in Pay by Bank, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
Job responsibilities
- Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
- Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
- Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
- Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
- Develops, maintains and executes on the product backlog as the Product Owner in an Agile development process, authors detailed product specifications, epics and user stories, acceptance criteria , establishes project plans and milestones, and manages the project delivery with Planning, Development, QA, and other cross functional teams against assigned goals. Validates and Accepts user stories, features and epic to ensure functional and non-functional expectations are satisfied and is fully accountable for this function
- Contributes to the testing strategy and manages the end-to-end integrated , provides the right level of support and direction to keep the engineering teams aligned with the overall product strategy, participates in regular cadences -stand up’s , retrospective, planning meetings and is closely engaged with the development/engineering teams though out the product lifecycle
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
- Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
- Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
- Experience in managing and launching one or more technology focused products that are micro-services based and API driven
- Proficiency in the use of JIRA, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project , Visio) and experience with Confluence, Tableau, Sharepoint
- Deep understanding of the merchant acquiring space and business landscape
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
- Open banking or aggregator experience a plus
- Technical acumen and experience that allows you to communicate with and understand your target audience (developers), acting as a trusted partner to engineering driving complex product initiatives in an agile development environment
- Ability to deliver results accurately, quickly, and efficiently while adapting to shifting priorities and ambiguity
- A creative innovator with the ability to define business tradeoffs and value; generate out-of-the-box solutions, and cut through ambiguity to propel results
- Self-driven and organized with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute on multiple concurrent initiatives, an effective collaborator and engaging communicator with the ability to inspire, influence and align various cross-functional stakeholders. A passion for customer research, product fidelity and driving compelling user experiences with a positive ‘can do’ attitude who can work well in under pressure.
- Bachelors Degree Preferred degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology. Masters Degree a Plus
