The role in a nutshell 

As the Product Manager reporting to the VP Product Management, you will be supporting the development and management of our electronic trading platform. You'll work closely with technology, sales, marketing, and external stakeholders to ensure our product not only meets but exceeds market needs and customer expectations. 

This is an exciting time for Octaura as we are rapidly growing and are looking for energetic, collaborative and driven thinkers to join us! Please note this role is based out of our NYC office and our current structure is 4 days in the office, 1 day from home. 

Core responsibilities
  • Executing the product roadmap for our electronic trading platform, with a focus on innovation, user experience, and market penetration. 
  • Collaborate with business and design teams to solution new features and enhancements, and engineering team to develop and test those changes. 
  • Oscillate between client facing teams and engineering teams bridging any potential gaps between business and technical perspectives. 
  • Produce detailed specification documents across the entire product lifecycle for developers to build 
  • Drive high levels of communication and collaboration with Developers, ensuring they understand the product and their deliverables. 
  • Monitor the work that is being delivered by the Developers to ensure it meets the specifications, continually following up to ensure product is on-track. 
  • Engage directly with key clients and partners to gather feedback and incorporate it into the product development cycle. 
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to define go-to-market strategies, ensuring product-market fit and adoption. 

Desired experience

  • 5+ years of experience in product management within the FinTech sector, with a strong preference for experience in fixed income or leveraged loan/CLO markets, and/or trading experience in the institutional space. 
  • Proven track record of developing and managing successful financial technology products. 
  • Deep understanding of the electronic trading landscape, market structure, protocols, regulatory environment, and client needs. 
  • Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence and challenge decisions. 
  • Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously through the entire lifecycle and manage potential trade-offs with desired features and associated deadlines impacting resourcing models. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams. 
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, finance, economics, computer science, engineering, or another STEM-related field.  
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment. 
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. 
 
The base pay range for this position in New York is $140,000 - $170,000 annually. Pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity and year-end bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
