What you'll do

As a Product Manager for Notifications, you will lead the innovation of a user-centric notifications management platform, prioritizing an intuitive user experience and ensuring robust engineering support. Your role will also include spearheading the integration of new channels into our notifications platform, fostering seamless technical alignment and effective collaboration with Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams. Additionally, you will manage strategic vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and compliance oversight with SMS delivery partners, telecoms, WhatsApp, and email delivery partners. You will also be responsible for the monitoring of notification delivery systems, analyzing performance data, and addressing any technical challenges to guarantee prompt and precise delivery to our users. Your analytical abilities and dedication to enhancing user engagement will be crucial in driving our administrative experiences to meet and exceed customer expectations.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager of Product.

 

Responsibility

  • Lead the development and launch of a new platform for user-centric notifications management, including overseeing the design of the user experience, ensuring that users can easily manage their notification preferences, and coordinating with the Engineering team to ensure the platform is built to specification
  • Integrate new channels into the notifications platform, including understanding the technical requirements of each channel, coordinating with the Engineering team to ensure smooth integration, and working with the Marketing and Sales teams to maximize the reach and effectiveness of these channels
  • Manage relationships with various vendors, including SMS delivery partners, telecoms, WhatsApp, and email delivery partners which will include negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and conducting security and risk assessments to protect the company and its users
  • Monitor the delivery of notifications and troubleshoot any issues that arise, including analyzing delivery reports, identifying trends and issues, and working with the Engineering team to resolve any technical problems, ensuring that notifications are delivered promptly and accurately to all users
  • Drive the vision and requirements for your features, and translate them to functional specifications to facilitate a sound design and deliver a delightful customer experience
  • Leverage primary and secondary research to deepen understanding of customers across their lifecycle, from awareness to renewal and expansion
  • Own insights on the market in which your product areas compete, staying abreast of industry trends, events, and channels to anticipate customer needs
  • Develop a deep understanding of key personas, struggles and jobs to be done by closely working with customers, User Research, and Marketing
  • Understand and profile high value, innovative use cases purchased and implemented by key customers
  • Monitor, measure, and report on key business and customer metrics in collaboration with Data Science and identify areas for continuous testing, experimentation and evolution
  • Evaluate and prioritize product roadmap and backlogs for effective release and sprint planning
  • Facilitate requirements definition to create developer-ready epics, user stories and acceptance criteria while identifying dependencies and relative priority with other product managers
  • Partner with Program Management, Design and Engineering to ensure product ships on time and to quality
    Collaborate with Marketing, Pricing, Sales, Support, Legal, Security and other cross-functional teams on successful go-to-market and product adoption

What you bring

Basic

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related area of study (e.g., CS, EE, IT, Systems, MIS)
  • 2+ years of related work experience in digital product management, preferably in digital SaaS business

 

Preferred

  • Experience in product management for Enterprise SaaS products
  • Strong customer focus through qualitative and quantitative measures
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, prioritize your work and handle your own time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and productivity
  • Ability to operate in a matrixed environment influencing multiple partners and roadmap delivery commitments
  • Demonstrated success leading large scale technology products
  • Consistent track record of building cross-functional partnerships
  • Proven ability to collaborate well cross-functionally across organizational boundaries with Engineering, User Experience, Research, Product, Program Management, Sales, Marketing, IT, Compliance, Security, Legal, Business Development, and Support

Wage Transparency

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

 

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $91,200 - $132,900 base salary

 

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
