We’re looking for a product manager to join our ranks. This Product Manager will have responsibility for an advisory program that provides clients with the option to have their workplace 401(k) or 403(b) accounts managed by their financial advisor. This role will contribute to the company’s growth and client retention objectives by driving strategic planning, managing product development, facilitating advisor education, and fostering product engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the product’s overall success, including adoption and user experience
  • Defining and maintaining the product’s ambition statement, business case and roadmap, while managing tradeoffs between business, customer, and operational capabilities throughout the product lifecycle
  • Championing the product through internal governance processes for strategic decision making and resource acquisition
  • Owning, leading and driving the product’s strategic development and enhancement initiatives with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality. Be an intrapreneur
  • Working with Commonwealth’s Product Lab to implement best practices and processes that maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the product’s services and experiences
  • Collaborating and partnering with cross functional stakeholders and teams, subject matter experts, and third-party providers to ensure effective implementation and ongoing support of the product, its features, and related services
  • Leveraging your product vision, business acumen, problem solving, and people skills to drive strategic planning, development, marketing, delivery, and support for this advisory service
  • Driving product understanding and adoption by creating and executing plans to educate, train, and continuously promote this advisory program to affiliated advisors/staff and internal partners
  • Coordinating and driving analysis to evaluate the solution for customer feedback, pricing, distribution, feature set, competitive landscape, and cost/benefit profile
  • Ensuring product and service development considers corporate goals, voice of constituents, competitive intelligence, financial and risk implications, and coordination with external partner firms
  • Staying abreast of industry, demographic, and regulatory trends to inform the product’s roadmap, as necessary

 Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • 5+ years well-developed financial service experience is needed, knowledge of retirement products preferred
  • Experience in product, program and/or project management or related discipline
  • Works well independently and within a matrix-based team environment
  • Strong oral, presentation, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear way to peers and senior leaders
  • Proficient in MSOffice
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience
