Responsibilities

The Senior Product Manager/Product Manager for Robotics will play a pivotal role in guiding products from concept to market launch, bridging the technical and business domains. This position is open to both emerging product managers and seasoned senior product managers. The ideal candidate will leverage market knowledge and cultivate strong relationships across various departments within the company, including sales, engineering, marketing, finance, manufacturing, and user experience. Their goal will be to develop products that effectively meet customer needs, regardless of their level of experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Becoming an expert in market dynamics, competitor analysis, and user requirements for small Instrument products.
  • Crafting clear and comprehensive product requirements that drive innovation within Hamilton, outlining objectives and essential features for new products and enhancements.
  • Leading product launches and feature rollouts by collaborating with different teams at Hamilton, providing strategic vision, realistic timelines, and comprehensive plans covering communication, budgeting, and distribution. This includes establishing pricing and production forecasts based on market insights, production costs, and anticipated demand.
  • Managing the entire life cycle of each small device to ensure successful market adoption, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Taking ownership of the financial performance of the product line, focusing on revenue growth, gross margin optimization, and design considerations related to product cost structures.
  • Delivering formal presentations to both internal stakeholders and customers on a wide range of topics related to Hamilton's small Instruments, serving as a key advocate for the company.
  • Contributing to near and long-term strategic planning initiatives in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Collaborating with the leadership team to develop and prioritize the portfolio roadmap.
  • Ensuring that assigned products remain responsive to market demands, implementing continuous improvements where necessary to maintain or enhance market share.
  • Developing and delivering engaging training materials for sales teams, technical support, field application scientists, and addressing key customer inquiries proactively.
  • Pursuing ongoing professional and technical development opportunities through workshops, seminars, and other relevant forums.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current understanding of industry trends in laboratory equipment applications and needs.
  • Deep understanding of the scientific testing process, either through hands-on experience, education, or past sales experience.
  • Technical experience with laboratory automation is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
  • Demonstrated success with identifying market opportunities and speaking to competitive differentiators.
  • Demonstrated success with launching new products or features, including development of a product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design.
  • Results and proactive solution driven, the ability to think critically to overcome potential business hurdles to complete tasks.
  • Knowledge of multiple areas of business: product management, engineering, design, sales, finance, marketing, or customer support.
  • Expertise in communicating with design and engineering teams.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity as this role will evolve based on strategy and market needs.
  • ttending tradeshows, sales meetings, and other activities to support customers and revenue growth.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field, from an accredited university or institution required.
  • MBA or Ph.D. in a science equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in a science laboratory setting using laboratory instrumentation and other wet chemistry laboratory equipment preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of product management experience is preferred.
  • Experience supervising a team preferred.
