Overview

TITLE: Senior Technical Product Manager

DIVISION: Kyocera Document Solutions Development

DEPARTMENT: Product & Strategic Innovation

LOCATION: Concord, California (Hybrid)

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

POSITION REPORTS TO: Section Manager, Product Mangement Research

 

This position manages, plans and coordinates the development of new products, enhancements of existing products and technical solutions based on short-term and long-term needs. Determines reasonable roadmaps and deadlines for new products and product enhancements considering priority, customer needs, financial limitations, staffing requirements and availability of resources. Develops sales forecasts and implements pricing schedules that provide revenue and margins growth while remaining competitive in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Informs the type of market and customer research needed to develop new product or provide necessary product improvements.
  • Ability to develop a product scope, requirements.
  • Ensure we’re building the right data systems, infrastructure, and scalable & efficient end2end connected solutions (CRM, Deals, Content, Analytics interfaces) for our sales, support, & partnership teams internally.
  • Provide guidance on how to prioritize and make tradeoffs against the needs of the business and enable everyone to make the biggest impact.
  • Research technical, Market, competitors and our business environment situation and trend for a product.
  • Analyse requests and demands to define functional and non-functional requirements via user stories and backlog management.
  • Set priority and severity of requirements for a software product with clear reason.
  • Work with and consistently influence company leadership and cross-functional teams, especially engineering and sales leadership teams.
  • Own planning and end-to-end execution of features/programs working with business and engineering teams and keeping everyone abreast of the progress.
  • Manages stakeholder expectations throughout the lifecycle of the product by meeting with them regularly.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skill to make correct understanding about specifications/requirements for all project members.
  • Ability to validate functional specs, UI Mock-ups and actual software, whether they meet user's expectation or not via user stories.
  • Works independently and requires minimal intervention throughout the life of the product.
  • Takes initiative in prioritizing based on industry expertise and communicates with the development team and program manager to minimize friction throughout the sprint.
  • Delivers quality product to the market.
  • Has the ability to launch new product into the market.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Math, related technical field or equivalent practical experience is required and an advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of programming, development, software product planning, or quality assurance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent working knowledge of web, mobile, and/or cloud solutions and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assigned tasks in multiple projects efficiently is required.
  • Effective collaboration with engineers and other departments world-wide as necessary.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle.

Base pay range: 130-150K/annually. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications, area of expertise, experience and performance. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified. Keep in mind, annual compensation is just one part of the total compensation package Kyocera provides.
