Position Summary:
At PatientSafe, our mission is to make the experience of care simple and effective. Product Managers work to achieve this vision by leveraging technology to enable providers, clinicians, and staff to improve the delivery of care. The Technical Product Manager works cross-functionally across development, design, QA, and operations and to bring ideas from conception to reality. Additionally, the technical product manager provides the product support for development of product collateral, sales tools, and product demos.
The Technical Product Manager will serve the role of product lead as part of an agile scrum development team and will be responsible for transforming business objectives and domain specific requirements into actionable engineering stories, actively participate in Sprint process, and drive cost, content and planning tradeoffs throughout the development cycle. The Technical Product Manager will work closely with Engineering, Technical and Architectural Leads in developing product concepts and technology roadmap.
The technical product manager participates in early customer success processes and reference site development. Working closely with outbound marketing, delivers their product to the sales and operations organizations. The Technical Product Manager works closely with operations in the Beta Site process and in generating reference sites. The technical product manager produces specification sheets, user manuals, and operation handoff documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve in role of product lead in an agile with scrum development methodology developing mobile client/server healthcare software: define user stories, actively participate in Sprint process, and manage cost, feature, and schedule tradeoffs throughout the development cycle.
- Transform business, market, and clinical requirements into executable user stories for engineering.
- Build effective relationships with cross-functional teams of clinical domain experts, market experts, program management, and development teams in product development and launch process.
- Validate product functionality against market and product requirements through customer discovery and competitive research and insights.
- Manage beta tests and other customer feedback processes to validate product functionality and funnel new requirements and fixes back into development.
- Work with clinical and care process domain experts to define mobile clinical workflows for clinical alerting systems.
- Provide product knowledge, product feature/benefits and demos to sales organization to enable effective selling.
- Work with technology and business partners to identify new product development opportunities.
- Develop and manage roadmap by working and aligning with multiple stakeholders.
- Stay informed of new technology capability and understands how to leverage capabilities in new product development. Recommends and plans innovative products and features.
Qualifications:
- Strong educational background with a preference for a strong technology background. Advanced degree (MBA or other) valuable.
- 5+ years of product management experience. Experience in Health Information Systems, healthcare system software or web systems is a plus.
- Solid background or experience with multi-tenant architecture and data security, including HIPAA security requirements.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
- Familiarity with an agile software development with Scrum methodology. Ability to be effective in an iterative development environment.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with voice communications technology (SIP, PBX, VoIP)
- Experience working with and designing clinical alerting systems and workflows.
- Experience working with clinical users who have minimal knowledge of software applications and capturing their domain knowledge as well-formed requirements and user stories.
