Chief Product Officer
Exciting opportunity for a dynamic, team-oriented, player-coach to join our team as Chief Product Officer. SportsBiz is optimizing the $100B sports sponsorship ecosystem through our proprietary decision-making and advanced data analytics software platform, DeepSport Solutions. This recurring license technology platform empowers to remedy the vast financial inefficiencies impacting the sports marketing industry. Advancing the technologies of automation and artificial intelligence (AI) - SportsBiz is disrupting the future of Sports Marketing.
Please note, the entire SportsBiz team is working for both equity shares in the business and routine cash stipends. Major family office, angel and individual high net worth investors are part of the company's investor base. Full salaries, however, will be paid upon the company completing its fundraising efforts.
Summary
You will be a key member of the executive team helping us establish SportsBiz as a software leader, first-mover and AI-disruptor within the sports marketing industry. The Chief Product Officer will have a proven track record of customer first, user focused, data-driven decision making that delivers an exceptional experience as well business outcomes. You will take ownership and be responsible for shipping software products with high impact and efficiency. This player/coach role requires you to define high level objectives, detailed requirements and user stories, and lead a cross-functional delivery team. You must be willing and ready to roll up your sleeves and help the team get work done as we are a small and nimble organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an executive of the Company to determine strategy in concert with the Chief Data Scientist, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and CEO. This role will report the CEO.
- Lead and expand Product Management team.
- Know our customers and products thoroughly. Inspire others to a similar depth of knowledge, use customer and product insights to guide product decisions.
- Help establish and drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including requirements and roadmap development, prioritization, delivery, and product launch
- Translate product strategy and high-level requirements into detailed user stories used by cross-functional delivery teams.
- Create product requirements documents for features used to align cross-functional teams to the business objectives, customer value proposition, and functional / technical requirements.
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI product, engineering,, marketing, and sales teams in the strategy, development, QA, and release of products.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, requirements estimation, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives.
What we’re looking for
- 12+ years of experience in a dynamic product management role
- Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.
- Data-driven and customer-centered, with a willingness to get into the weeds.
- You are a “do-er” and make things happen. You manage ambiguity and complexity in an organized and structured way.
- Demonstrated expertise in systematically prioritizing requirements and stakeholder feedback while aligning cross-functional teams with the product roadmap.
- Experience bringing new products to market.
- Excellent communication and presenting skills, with an effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams.
- Experience in Agile development and Continuous delivery.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree
- Combination of B2B and B2C experience
- 12+ years in Agile product management
- A passion for Sports and/or Sports Marketing
