The Position: The Director of Product Management will define and execute the product strategy for our Data Engineering and Business Intelligence (BI) teams, with the potential to expand product management across the company. This role collaborates closely with talented analysts and data engineers to take on high-impact projects, owning the full data product lifecycle This role will also own the product roadmap, aligning it with company goals and driving transparency across the organization, all while building and scaling the product management function from the ground up.

 

We are only considering candidates who are local to Austin, Texas or those who are willing to relocate independently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a clear Product capability vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s and team’s goals and delivers value to the business.
  • Work with stakeholders across the company to qualify and prioritize requests, product features, projects, and improvements based on the needs and impact to the business and our customers along with the level of effort to implement.
  • Own, create, and maintain the engineering and BI product roadmap, ensuring it is aligned with business and team goals and communicated effectively to all company-wide stakeholders, including the leadership, engineering, and data analyst teams.
  • Lead the process of evaluating and selecting the appropriate solutions to meet business needs, including contributing to strategic build vs. buy decisions to ensure the most efficient use of resources and alignment with company goals.
  • Partner with engineering and data analysis teams to ensure product requirements are well-understood, feasible, and properly executed within project timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering and BI product-related inquiries, managing expectations and communicating updates on progress, timelines, and challenges.
  • Use data insights, customer feedback, and market trends to inform product decisions, ensuring that solutions address real business problems.
  • Develop best practices for product management processes, tools, and frameworks as the product management team scales.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Seven years of experience in product management, ideally within a SaaS, technology, or property management environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Product Management, Engineering, or related field. Experience can substitute for education


Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Skilled in leading product strategy and building product roadmaps that align with business objectives.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams (engineering, data analysts, stakeholders) to prioritize, build, and deliver solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive alignment across teams.
  • Skilled in Agile development methodologies (Scrum and Kanban frameworks) and the execution of iterative solutions.
  • Skilled at leading a team and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing the details of execution.
  • Ability to use data to make informed product decisions, identify trends, and optimize product performance.
  • Ability to oversee product lifecycles, from conception to launch.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex product challenges and drive continuous improvement.   

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to sit for extended periods of time
  • May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment
  • Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer

Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid role requiring the associate to be in one of our corporate offices at least four days a week.
  • The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions.
